Each leading cast member was asked to write a review on the play and characterization of the name given them based upon the play.  Here is what they had to say.

Faithful:

Jasmine as Ruth

            Disappointment, shattered dreams, uncertainty and hope. Along with billions of others, Ruth displays all of the qualities that comes along with being human. Although hopes seemed to be crushed, and prayers unanswered, she yet remained faithful to God.

            In the biblical story of Ruth, this woman faced uncertainty, and great trials. But, in the midst of sadness, she remained faithful to her mother-in-law, and to her God. What seemed to be hopeless turned into victory, as God rewarded Ruth’s loyalty with success. God blessed her to rise far and beyond her human expectations, much as He did in the play.

            Ruth brings a message of hope to all. Faithful is a testimony of  Gods love in the midst of fear. It is a beautiful reminder that when facing difficulties, if individuals  become like Ruth and her friends, many will experience victory in circumstances.

            It seems as if despair has replaced hope in this nation. However, for those inspired by Faithful, I pray a message of inspiration will be given to those in need of  emotional, and even spiritual healing. Ruth, I believe is an icon to many teenagers as she seeks positive influence, and surrounds herself with encouraging friends in her time of need. She demonstrates unselfishness, and perseverance as she cares for her elderly grandmother, and maintains a good GPA. Although Ruth’s monetary needs were lacking, she showed how God blesses hard work. She continued to seek help from others, and her faith never changed, even when situations seemed to fail. Despite many of the negative influences the media displays, Mamma “D”  Productions hands out Gods truth, through life changing moral values.

            If given the role of Ruth, I pray God will use me for His glory to help bring a message of hope to a dying world. I believe that I can bring everything to the character, that the producers are looking for. Acting is my passion, and when given a job, I remain devoted. Through hard work, and much prayer, I know God will bless this ministries endeavors far and beyond its expectations. 

            As people search for an to escape from their pain, I pray many will find what their heart seeks for in this God inspired play. Like Ruth,  I pray many will become faithful to God, as Mamma “D” Productions touches the hearts, and minds of many.

            There are millions of people unfamiliar with God. However, after watching Faithful, I believe individuals will leave saying, “…thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” (Ruth 1:16(b)).

Daniel as David

I felt David played an important role in the play "Faithful," because David became a friend and an encourager to Ruth. When Ruth felt like she was alone and different, God sent her David.  Even though David was having problems of his own with his siblings and father in the play, all he needed was a friend.

 David also has an important role because he admired Ruth's boldness on how she could bring her bible to school and not care what all the other kids at school thought about her.   Ruth's love for God showed David that it’s ok to love God and not be ashamed about it.

 The outcome was that David was there for Ruth as a friend and a loyal listener to her in time of trouble.  Even though she was not like every other girl he never looked at her differently, but wanted to be as close to God as she was. Through their songs, scriptures, and encouraging words David was there for Ruth as much as she was there for David.

Kezia as Esther

Well I’m not sure where to begin…. I’ve just finished reading the play, and I though it was really, really, good!  As I read the play I came to Esther’s part (lines) for the first time.  I read it aloud and I could not help but feel that I can relate to the character, Esther in a few ways.

 Esther’s character plays a really important part in this skit.  She is encouraging and inspiring.  She gives information on scholarships that is very useful and helpful.

 I feel exactly the same way about my future, as Esther does, and I believe that if I work and do the best I possibly can, that I can bring out the importance and… I can play the part really well, as long as I put forth the effort.
